I mean a bunch of white men voluntarily decided to end slavery so that kind of hurts your (bad) take.

If someone deserves to be a head coach then hire them. The Rooney rule was already a joke and this is worse. Incentivizing someone to make a decision based on race is just really assbackwards

To simply put it, if you are going to allow this then you have to require a fair racial distribution for players on the teams and for playing time. Might as wel foi it at every position.

12.5% of population is black? So only can have 4 black QBs in the nfl. Woops we are already over that (Murray, Wilson, Jackson, Taylor, Watson, Mahoney, Prescott, Brissett). That’s not even counting Winston and Newton.

Guess you have to cut or Bench 4 of them.

Now coaches? Lynn, Flores, Tomlin. Hire one more and you’ll be at proportional to the population.

Again, whites make up 61% of the population, yet only make up less than 30% of the players. Less than half their population representation. African Americans make up nearly 70% for a whopping 5-6 times over representation.

If you want fairness, there you go. Cut 80-85% of black players and replace them with Hispanic, white and Asian players to represent their population percentage.

See how much those players are keen to that.

Dumbest take ever. Literally has nothing to do with minority Coach rule being proposed.

And you obvioisly flamed away without reading my post.

Like I said there is no “correct” race. I responded to the a-hole who said not being white is being born in the “incorrect” race. I didnt say I thought it was a good rule.

I said some of the racist idiots on here saying racist shite need to shut the frick up.

Perfect example of a racist a-hole statement.

This is a sensitive issue. I am guessing that roughly 80% of the NFL players are black, and < 20% of the HC’s are black. This is not an unreasonable incentive. Frankly, it should be more generous if they want it to make a real impact.

It is up to the NFL to ensure that the diversity numbers increase. If left up to the owners, the low numbers will remain the same. This is commonly referred as the “ole boy” system.

It's 2020 and we still can't desire to live in an equal world. Reverse discrimination is alive and well.

What does everyone think about the proposed deal to reward teams for hiring minority coaches by getting to jump up in the draft?

why isn't there a push to get more white CBs in the league? white RBs?

why is there so much emphasis on shoehorning african americans into coaching positions. it's absolutely fricking retarded

Maybe you should inform us of the qualifications of the individuals hired? You tell me that African Americans make up over 70 % of the players in the league and the executive management comprise of less than 1% of minorities and you can’t see that the NFL’s hiring practices pertains executive positions isn’t unfair? To be honest with you since you ask for an example, why not look at your own Mickey Loomis whom was considered a “ bean counter.” He had zero football man agent experience but happen to be good friends with Tom Beson. He learned the job while on the job. To be honest, he is still learning the job. In reality, Sean Payton continues to call the shots. Loomis is a figure head at best.

Go check his experience prior to his hiring as GM. Loomis was nothing more than a “bean counter.”

The point I’m making is that Loomis lacked essential skill for the position. He was given an opportunity viva the “ole boy.”” Blacks and other minorities are often excluded from top executive positions due to this practice.

Can I say that Loomis got that position due to “whir private”? He certainly did not meet the qualifications for the job.
