What are the inconsistencies?

He has made it clear time and time again he would love to see country opened up sooner rather than later (we all would love that), but that he will defer to the health experts as to when the appropriate time to do so is.

Why is that so hard to understand?

Open By Easter (The states are more incharge to make decisions currently. this is just a rally call.)

Right, those statements ARE BS...because he never said that. He said things would be reviewed and reassessed around Easter in hopes it would be ok to do then. Sheesh!

it is just a rally call, but some 'goal' needs to be put out there even if its slightly aggressive.

both statements can be, and ARE true. he's trying not to let the media control the narrative, and since he has the ear of the american people everyday, he wants to tell them what to look out for.

i will call him out when he does something stupid...but right now he's on point

Telling NY that they need to buy their own vents is a low point for presidential leadership.

You’re on your own!!

He said yesterday a line I actually here a lot on this board that ""[Y]ou look at automobile accidents, which are far greater than any numbers we're talking about. That doesn't mean we're going to tell everybody, 'No more driving of cars.' So we have to do things to get our country open." So if he believes that now...did he not believe that 2 weeks ago when he gave his oval office speech? And if so then why this shut down at all? Is this serious or not Mr. President?

From his presser yesterday

quote:

Dr. Fauci says Trump’s Easter aspirational target to ‘reopen’ the economy is “flexible” based on data & by region. Trump says decisions will be based in consultation with Fauci, Birx and others.

When Clemson was kicking LSUs arse, do you want someone that is saying it's all over or someone setting goals?

There are entire states that have had very little cases thus far. I don't think you can open up LA, WA, CA, NJ and NY by Easter but there are perhaps 20-25 states that you could realistically relax some of the restrictions as long as people still distance and are smart about it.

Trump needs to signal first that it's safe. Trump makes the orders, and the lockdowns will continue a week or two.

You don’t understand nuance.

His point was that there has to be a balancing act between when to reopen economy and fighting the virus

Are we going to wait until it no longer exists? That is months and months and months away.
