I RA'd.
I'm all for chastising LSU when in the wrong, but this is Fake News bullshite that doesn't need to be spread on this LSU-focused board.
All the OP is going to do is send parents calling an overworked ResLife, trying to help relocate/move people, about this shite.

Whet fricking genius sits behind a desk and makes these decisions? Do they even calculate public perception and opinion?

Call Residential Life, $4,000 per semester dorm fees, prorated for 1/2 the semester is $2,000. They then assess the 75% penalty and return $500.

What a dumb fricking thread
pro rata =/= penalty
pro rata =/= penalty

I imagine a few parents will sue the hell out of LSU once this all blows over.
Wouldn't the legal fees cost more than the refund LSU is supposed to give them?

They should know better with all the trial lawyers alums they’ve churned out. They are now biting the hand that feeds

Weird, they always ask "why not" when I receive phone calls from them asking for donations.

Check the refund on the link, I spoke to the director, he says they believe they are "on solid legal footing".
Has to be a misunderstanding. They said they are determining credits based on the housing contract and then provided a link to the contract which has all the standard blanket information regarding housing. There is no way they are charging you a penalty.

Some trial attorney parent is gonna be pissed and do it for kicks. Freshman are required to live in dorms now.

nd that school wonders why I will never donate a penny to it."
False. They don't give a rat's arse what you do.

You actually expected them to do the right thing here?

The rooms are on 9 month contracts that start, roughly speaking, on August 15th.
March 15th was 7/9ths of the academic rent.
ECA is $3900 annually. 22% returned would be $865. Which is pretty close to the $748 they're reportedly refunding.
I hope your kid is better at math and logic than you.

No one is surprised at all if this is true.

OP should get a job at CNN or MSNBC. He’s good at reporting fake news.

But it's not. OP just sucks at math.

I followed the link, but didn’t see anything about how refunds would be handled. What am I missing?
