Paul would be dumb if he gets rid of Smith. It was about the same for years without a hitting coach. Paul gets some relief and the time to win his games to be all time best coach with 1 NC.

Being no hit is going to rock this team. It’s going to take a team already lacking in confidence and basically reinforce all of the negativity. The thought that this will be used as a springboard forward is a pipe dream IMO. This game is going to be an anchor that will be in their mind for a while.
