Sorry for your Loss. We maybe a bunch of idiots on here most of the time but i believe this place has a place especially for men who are fathers/Brothers . We are often the rock of the family and really have nowhere to confess our sadness during tragic/diffucult times. Glad you came here even if we helped your grief only 1% RIP Blake.

Yesterday I buried my 22 year old tiger fan. He was killed in a car wreck last Thursday morning on his way to work. Blake still lived at home with plans to marry his girlfriend after she graduates from nursing school in a couple of years. He had it all planned out, but God had other plans. I trust Him, with questions, but no accusations.
Blake loved the tigers and we enjoyed this past year together. We don’t watch television, but we listened to every game together and talked about them until the next game day. Jamar Chase was his favorite player. He graduated from Mississippi State but, he went in a tiger and came out a tiger! It’s pretty cool knowing his last year was his best year yet and the tigers’ best year yet.
I don’t post here, but I read almost every day. I’d like to say, I’ve read many posts similar to this one with tears in my eyes and a smile on my face because of stories about people I don’t even know. But I didn’t respond with words of comfort. Today I know how important those words would have been to somebody, even a stranger, whose only connection to me was a college sports program. I now pledge to be a better, more compassionate person toward those in similar need. I want to be that friend in need and in deed.
Btw Blake was dressed up in his favorite suit and tie like he was going to church or the only other more important place, but a few of us knew he was wearing his purple and gold tiger socks. Another tiger gone...but not forgotten.
Thank you, Rant, for letting me share a little about Blake today. It seems to help ??
thanks much for sharing here.
God bless you and family.

God didn't kill him. shite happens sometimes and it really really sucks.
So sorry for your loss. Your son sounds like a great guy and lived a great life. 22 is much too young to go. I don't know what you are going through but I've lost people close to me as young as that, and it was very tough. You won't ever get over it...but it should get easier to deal with as time goes by. Don't hesitate to seek help if you think you may need it. I talked with my priest soon after I lost my friend and it helped a good bit.

So sorry for your loss. You may find a great deal of comfort in knowing what your son is now experiencing if you read a book by Michael Brown entitled "The Other Side". I lost my precious mother a month ago and when sadness cones I rejoice in knowing what she is experiencing now. Peace.

Tried myself, in the school of affliction, by the loss of every form of connection which can rive the human heart, I know well, and feel what you have lost, what you have suffered, are suffering, and have yet to endure. the same trials have taught me that, for ills so immeasurable, time and silence are the only medecines. I will not therefore, by useless condolances, open afresh the sluices of your grief nor, altho’ mingling sincerely my tears with yours, will I say a word more, where words are vain, but that it is of some comfort to us both that the term is not very distant at which we are to deposit, in the same cerement, our sorrows and suffering bodies, and to ascend in essence to an ecstatic meeting with the friends we have loved & lost and whom we shall still love and never lose again. God bless you and support you under your heavy affliction.
