Universal is a 2 day trip. Disney is a week and you still don’t cover everything.
Listen to your family.

Neither one are my thing, there’s just so many other places I’d rather visit for that sort of time and financial commitment. Unfortunately, it is my wife’s thing, so we we took our 4 year old to both last summer.
I preferred universal simply because we stayed on premise and their “fast pass” system was so much better (unlimited line skips at any time of the day, so we got to do so many more rides at our own pace and spent so, so much less time in lines).
After doing them back to back, though, it was obvious how much more of a polished experience all around Disney was. We ate lunch at the Marvel burger place, and although the Disney food options weren’t 5 star, it made the Marvel place just look terrible in comparison. This was pretty much true across the board when comparing the two in varying aspects.
It was a “fun” trip, mostly because of watching the 4 year old doing things like meeting his hero (Spider-Man) and being absolutely star struck. But I hope we don’t go back for a long, long time.

Universal is more fun for adults but, Disney is still Disney. End of the day everyone should go to Disney once in their life. For all it's bullshite, it is a really cool place to go, especially for kids.

Go to Universal once and you will never go back again. WDW is light years ahead, except possibly in food prices.
I'm a huge MK guy but this is false

Has Disney become trashy like Orange Beach?

Thanks for the good advice guys. I'm thinking 2 days in each park is what I will suggest.

Just went to both and liked universal better. Disney is just way too overcrowded.

It’s always crazy to see how butthurt people really are over anything Disney related. These threads never disappoint.

have you looked at the prices on Universal fast passes? they almost more than a ticket to get in
Really sad what these parks have become. Pay outrageous prices to stand in line for 70% of the day
Been to both. Universal better rides but if your kids are still young they still think its magical. For an adult its expensive food prices and long arse lines.

I’m heading to both soon. This will be my first time to universal. Doing 3 days at universal, then 2 days at Disney.

Disney is more geared for families with young children while Universal is geared for preteens to adults. However, people of all ages can have fun at both establishments, just depends on what you and your family are in to.
It's probably cheaper to go to Universal than Disney. Universal has non-Florida resident annual passes that are sometimes cheaper than multi-day tickets. However, the lower tiered passes have blackout dates, so check the dates before you purchase if you choose that route.

Both have pluses and minuses. Age of kids matters if this is a family trip. Disney better for younger ones. Neither are bargain centers.

Comparing fast passes is not apples and oranges. Disney fast passes are like a reservation that you have to make. Universal fast passes are like skipping every line. I rode the Hulk like 6 times in about 30 minutes.

3 days at Universal is too long, IMO

You can’t begin to do Disney in 2 days. 5 is really a minimum there
