Maybe you're thinking about Anthony Thomas, RB from Winnfield who played at Michigan and then Chicago Bears.

No contest: Lester Earl. LSU would have been better off if he had opted to go to another school to begin with. Instead, he came on board, fricked the program, and left to play for that dickhead in Kansas.
"Disappointing" applies to most of the other players that opted to go elsewhere. "Hate" actually applies in Lester's case.

I'm fine with jokes, but here is why I posted what I did: I think many of our fans take it personally and very seriously that McKnight left Louisiana, and that is sad.
I'll make jokes all day long about guys who left Louisiana, especially if they went to play for Ole Miss. Robert Lane comes to mind - the guy thought he would dictate to Saban who he could and could not recruit. Saban courted Jamarcus, Lane threatened to pull his commitment, Saban didn't blink, and Lane ends up playing tight end or fullback or whatever for the Ole Pissers while JR ends up the #1 overall pick. Lane didn't want to compete with JR, so it turns out the guy (Flynn) who stuck around behind Mauck, then Randall, then JR, is the one who ended up with a national title ring. Funny as hell to me.
Eli is yet another story. I'm glad he went to Ole Miss and "won" an SEC west co-championship. Ole Miss' greatest football season in 40 years was overshadowed by and cut short by LSU, thanks in no small part to Eli falling on his arse on 4th down. From what I heard, it made for some wiseass LSU fans giving him a hard time at Fat Harry's. Now that is funny. Yeah yea, Eli won a super bowl, so it worked out for him in the end I guess, but not before LSU claimed another crown.

Some of you folks from LA...Do not understand....
I am not an LA Native...I went to LSU out-of-state...and love the State of Louisiana... I felt NO love for my home state Universities...
And there are many others like me..including athletes.....

why would you hate him for leaving LA? He sucked at the college level, so did Brent Rawls.

being from Shreveport you get real sick of hearing about this guy, i didn't want him to go to LSU but I hated hearing about him every damn day until JD booty came around. trust me i don't want either of them on my team.
Robert Lane that is another good one, good call. surprised it took this long to come up.
yea, it is sad how serious some people do take this, i see what you mean, i am certainly not one of them.

nobody really cares, we are just kidding around.
there are plenty of reasons for athletes to leave the state.
also, i don't think anybody really cares (on this site, but in the economic world it is important)if you left Louisiana and didn't attend LSU.
we are really talking about recruiting wars that involved guys who either blew off LSU or just chose a school we hate over us. this is all in good fun.

Billy Cannon Jr was my dad's roomate at Texas A&M. A&M used different methods of attracting athletes in the jackie sherril days. one of my dad's friends was a linebacker and an alumni bought him a T-Bird.

did LSU recruit him, that would have been a nice addition at wide out?

Brock Berlin was a stud coming out of Evangel. Just couldn't cut it at Florida THEN couldn't make it big in Miami either.
