Hell, they still run some steam locomotives in regular service. Not excursion/museum pieces like here.

Yep. And while I don’t doubt they are cremating bodies, the amount of emitted SO2 will be drops compared to a normal day.

Singapore now has more homebrew cases than imported cases. The WHO "tip of the iceberg" comment...

I said it pages back that HK and SG were the two cities to pay attention to.

HK bc of it’s proximity to mainland and Lam decision not to ban travel and SG bc of the number of people from PRC that traveled there for CNY and then how clean/developed it is.

Both are good samples of what this thing can actually do.

Over 100 deaths in Hubei in a single day. Over 1,000 total. Not great.

Something to watch is the rumor China will no longer be counting asymptomatic cases as confirmed cases. WHO said they hadn't been able to confirm that, though.

Are you in a hurry or something? Why abbreviate so many words?

@BNODesk
Coronavirus update:
- 42,729 confirmed cases worldwide
- 23,589 suspected cases
- 1,013 fatalities
- 7,463 in serious/critical condition
- 3,752 recovered
- Most cases in China
- 25 countries reporting cases

This is without the national numbers. I think the 103 deaths are the most in a single day I believe.

Pretty big drop in new cases and we aren't really seeing big numbers outside of Hubei. Maybe quarantine efforts are working?

Yeah, I guess the concern is at some point soon, people will have to go to work.

I think they are starting to resume work this week. I remember reading that some cities had approved that.

I wonder if it would be smart to skip out on Nola Mardi Gras this year

Need to add a zero after the first number to all these estimates

Talk about your medical system getting overrun. Not enough beds, supplies/test kits(23k suspected) running out. You got medical workers working around the clock for 2 weeks. How long do they work without passing out to exhaustion, say “frick it” bc low morale, or catching the virus themselves. Imagine if you need other medical attention at the moment(giving birth, surgery). And you can’t replace a doctor or nurse like you would an oxygen tank. On top of this, other epicenters like Guangdong(100+ mil), Henan(90 mil) popping up.

They haven't updated the suspected cases yet today. We got a massive drop there yesterday, so we'll see what the next update brings.

Also headed to HomeDepot to buy 5k sq ft of visqueen to wrap all of my windows and doors with internally and externally

Several doctors and nurses have caught the virus. Although I did see (might have been propaganda) that some nurses who caught the virus AND recovered went back to work to help their colleagues and those in Wuhan.

Also IIRC, China had sent in like 600 army medics earlier and have recently sent in 1400? more medical personnel into Hubei province.

I just hope it stops soon.
