Good coach and would hate to see him leave to be destroyed somewhere else as a HC.

If he left for another DC job I’d be upset but I could never fault the guy for taking a P5 job... especially a good job like Baylor

We've historically had very good DC's and you can even debate 2-3 that have done better. I can't imagine we don't get a great one if Aranda leaves.

DC wise I don't want to promote from within. I think a fresh DC scheme will not be a bad thing.

It would entirely depend on who he was replaced with. I think Aranda is a quality DC but he's not without some gripes. I've been disappointed with the lack of a consistent pass rush during his tenure. Only area that disappoints me.

It is eventually going to happen, best of luck to him if he gets the job and we hire the best available coach

Agree! It's a natural consequence of winning NC. I trust Coach O to maintain (and improve) the high quality football program at LSU.

I’m surprised we had him this long

He is a great coach and has done a stellar job here

We have 2.5 million a year to hand out. That should get a good one

I think he’s one of the better in game/adjustment DC’s in the game, but I am not a fan of the slow starts his defenses have become known for. This year we just had the firepower to overcome those

If he stays, good, happy to have him

If he leaves, we will find a capable replacement

Not at all. This is what happens at successful programs.

The issue I had with hring Orgeron in the first place was that it was clear that LSU would have to continue to hire extremely strong coordinators on both sides of the ball considering his lack of strength on either side.

Nothing has changed in that regard.

He’s done right by us. Deserves to be a HC. This is waht happens with winning the championship. Good luck Ninja.

Unlike every other team in America who hires bums off the street, right?

Pretty much nothing can upset me about LSU football right now.

We just experienced the absolute pinnacle of football nirvana. By default it has to pull back.

Recruit, rebuild, hire well. Win a couple NY6 games, make a Natty run in a few years.

Well said...
You described my position on the matter perfectly...

Wow, you are a sharp one, aren't you? So, let me dumb it down for you...Most high level head coaches are an expert on one side of the ball or the other and they counter that with a strong OC on the other side.

Orgeron has proved to be a great administrator and LSU ambassador. He will just be tasked with making sure he has elite assistants to carry much of the load from a player development and coaching perspective. It is not a knock, it is just reality.

Not too upset. He's earned a head coaching gig. We just have to reload.

Of course if be bothered just like with Brady but not upset. Just don't like the uncertainty that goes with coaching changes. I feel like if we are gonna lose both, which was always inevitable, might as well get it over with all at once and start the next trek towards another national title. Don't expect to repeat yet also don't expect to lose more than 2 games so hire good guys and play well next year and revaluate from there. Make good, quick hires so we can start recruiting and take advantage of the momentum.

Not mad at all. Thankful for his contribution to LSU. All for people reaching for their goals.

Baylor must have a pretty decent DC, and we can always go back to Wisky.
