Was the Superdome really the best option?

Is the Superdome really the best option for what will likely be the best game of the year? It seems kind of dated and small (~75,000 capacity) for such a big-time event, especially with JerryWorld (100,000 capacity) as competition. Plus, its a little too close to home for my liking. I wouldn't want our guys to feel too comfortable going in to this.

I’d imagine it’s the city more than the stadium

It is a much better option than San Jose was last year. Tickets were going for like $125 in the lead up to the game because it was such a pain to get out there

You say this like most stadiums seat over 100k. They don't.

Independence Bowl is open too.

I heard they were trying to have it at the Centroplex but apparently there was concern about available parking in the garages. Superdome was a contingency.

That's in Arlington, near Dallas and Fort Worth. Nothing at all interesting there except for maybe Fort Worth.
Duh.

are you a bad troll or just stupid?

As long as they keep the lights on for the entire game it will be fine.

WTF does this even mean in terms of a venue for a football game? You think the goal posts are at the goal line in the Dome or something?
The playing field and equipment should be up to date and according to current regulations.

The superdome is in the middle of downtown within a couple blocks of every hotel. Not many places in the country can offer that.

No, we should move it to Tiger Stadium in all honesty.

The championship game is almost always played in an NFL stadium and the superdome is in the top 10 for largest NFL stadiums.
LSU has already won two titles in the dome before. Where have you been?
Dump post is dumb

They decide these things like half a decade in advance .

We should really move it Bryant-Denny which is like the half way point between both schools

More concerned with the bad mojo the saints left in there last weekend...

do you realize that the Superdome has the 9th largest seating capacity in the NFL (or it did pretty recently)?
JerryWorld only does 80k (but can be expanded to 100k for large events).
Its also been recently renovated and is very up to date. When was the last time you were in the Superdome? 1995?

Yes, Home Field Advantage is always the worst...
