Besides being a world-class receiver, I see Marshall as a wildcard in that he keeps the defense on their heels. Just when you think you have all the other WR's in check, he comes and bites you in the rear.

So important for him to come back at 100% and not just a decoy. Ditto for Clyde. Win...

rewatching early games, I had forgotten how much he was targeted early in the season. He got a ton of work before he got hurt.

Yep. You can maybe cover Chase. You can maybe cover Marshall. You can maybe cover Jefferson. You can maybe cover Moss. You can maybe cover CEH.

But you can't cover them all at once on every play.

Dabo fricked.

I agree. There is not a team in the country that has the talent to effectively guard our top 3 receivers. On every single play were are going to have AT LEAST one mismatch in our favor.

It's part of what makes Joe so effective under pressure. It's ridiculous enough to try to guard against Chase, Jefferson, Marshall in general. Throw in the fact that you are taking guys out of coverage to bring pressure and one of them will get open. Now throw in Moss and CEH as safety valves. Someone WILL be open.

Ya'll realize that prior to this year LSU's single season receiving record was 12 TDs by Dwayne Bowe. And we have TWO receivers at 18. EIGHTEEN. Oh and our 3rd WR who missed a ton of action is just sitting at 12, the former record. That's fricking nuts

Marshall has recorded the quietest 12 TD season ever. Only three WRs in LSU history have reached or passed that mark. Just so happens that of those three WRs, two happen to share the field with him. It's hard to wrap my mind around this:

1. Ja'Marr Chase - 18 TDs (2019)
Justin Jefferson - 18 (2019)

2. Terrace Marshall - 12 (2019)
Dwayne Bowe - 12 (2006)

3. Wendell Davis - 11 (1986)
Devery Henderson - 11 (2003)
Brandon LaFell - 11 (2009)

4. Carlos Carson - 10 (1977)
Josh Reed - 10 (2000)
Michael Clayton - 10 (2003)
Jarvis Landry - 10 (2013)

Him being hurt is 100% the reason why Chase won the Biletnikoff

He's Burrow's favorite redzone target so having him healthy will be massive.

This is what I was trying, to no avail, to explain to a Clemson fan on this forum the other day.

It's not that Chase is the best in the nation (he is). It's not that Jefferson is as good as Ross (he is).

It's that we have Marshall behind both of them who could be the #1 receiver on the vast majority of teams in the country, except that he happens to be on the team with Chase and Jefferson.

Not only that, but teams have learned that not paying attention to Racey McMath will have its consequences.

Add in Moss and Clyde, and LSU has more receivers than any team not named Bama.

Anybody who thinks Clemson has some advantage over LSU in the WR department is either ignorant or just plain stupid.

What's the general feel in terms of his health? It's hard to ascertain much from what CEO said earlier in the week.

Are we expecting him to play AND contribute?

I won't believe he's 100 until I see him fully extend his arms over his head.

Him at 100% is a serious problem for Clemson.

The closer to the goal line LSU gets, the more dangerous he is.
