The real danger is that some other power would come and and now would own the seas lanes around there. Someone like China or Russia. It’s not so much about the over land routes as much as it is the water.

The thing about that argument is that even since before the crusades the Ottomans/Arabians never outlawed Christianity in the region.

In other words even the muslims let Christians worship there, but I wouldnt expect anyone to hear that hear in the US.

Not gonna fight a war to do it again.

You can’t really be this ignorant? Do you not understand their ideology? Their mission is to rid the world of all “non-believers”. They will always hate America, unless we become a Muslim country. Just the way it is.

Sucks to be Europe. We’ll leave them a few tents and whatever MRE’s we can pack on the way out.

I highly doubt Jesus would want you to “keep that path open” through military occupation and armed conflict.

You believe that he was entirely into that "turn the other cheek" stuff? " I give you a sword"

Pretty much, yeah.he for sure wouldn’t be cheering on escalating tensions and violence by a bunch of followers of some idol political figure because they see that as him proving he has big balls.

I don't think that he was as passive, as you might want me to believe.

Oh no! Put that on the list next to “John Bolton won’t have any jerk-off material.” Imagine wanting to risk American lives so you can go on vacation.

Whatever is the worst thing that could happen if we didn't pull out of the Middle East. It would just be happening to someone else.

Here is the 88 Wildcat doctrine to foreign policy in the Middle East.

Nothing good ever happens when you have a presence in the Middle East. Nothing good ever happens when you don't have a presence in the Middle East.

This is what happens when you have 14, 154 different factions in the same geopolitical area for 2000 years and every single faction has an impeccable memory and the ability to foster a grudge against every other faction that wronged them at any point in those 2000 years.
