Does anyone know of any climbing stands that come with spikes?

Not the summit flat teeth that nearly killed me yesterday.
I have a treewalker that has teeth and will never slip. Unfortunately after 30 years they have closed there business.

Try an API. They don't have spikes, but they fit a tree far better than a summit. I sold my summit, they are only good for the perfect size tree. I didn't feel safe in it comparatively.

API. Those teeth never wear out. You cannot force either part to slide.

I’ve never had a problem with my summit viper. Did it slip or something?

My Old Man has some pretty aggressive teeth on it. The older ones suck though. I've used my step-dads from time to time and its pretty old. The teeth on those suck arse and I always feel like I'm going to slide right off the tree. Mine is rock solid.
Edit: Mine is also from prior to them being bought.

Yes mine completely slipped off.. treewalker never slips.. this is the first stand that has ever done this to me. In addition a friend’s dad had the cable come out when he was climbing down he screwed up his hand but landed on his feet after cutting himself loose from the harness

I would hate to have a climber and only shoot spikes

A guy at my old lease who worked in a sporting goods store called them "Summit-plummit".

I use the API grand slam and I still put a ratchet strap on the top piece around the tree, it never slipped before I started using the strap but I feel better when I use it

No doubt. I bought one a few years ago and can't believe I didn't own one before that. It's amazing, lightweight, sturdy construction, and very easily operated. The teeth provide a solid grip on any tree. Ive never felt unsafe being in this climber. I can't say the same about some others I've been in. Hope this helps.

Add a $15 set of stabilizer straps from Thirdhand Archery and you’ll feel like the stand is nailed to the tree. They make a tremendous difference. I also added the drag/footrest from Thirdhand and I can sit all day in my Summit. Hardest part is not falling asleep. But I’ll always be attached to the tree via a harness because I’ve read too many posts like yours.

Jerry McNulty has been battling throat cancer and had to quit building stands. It would be nice if someone would purchase a production license and continue making them and repair parts. The ProMag XL is the best stand I have ever owned.
