He got 45% of New Orleans, about 50% of registered voters didn’t vote.

Did JBE really get that? I don’t know, I’ve come to the conclusion I don’t understand the thinking of at least half the people in this country and in this state. It’s kind of depressing really.

I suspect 90% of the remaining white democrats in the state live there.

Me too.

You have the well to do or government or education employed whites that still live in the city that are straight up to liberal Democrats or RINOs that voted for JBE.

I know in places like Thibodaux (college/government worker town), there were stickers on some JBE signs that were Republicans for JBE. They knew a vote for JBE was a vote that kept the status quo on government workers.

In hindsight, would a Trump visit to New Orleans helped. JBE won both Orleans and Jefferson. If Trump could have sung, enough votes in those parishes, it would be a different ball game today. That is where Trump needed to do his 2nd swing not Shreveport.

Also, Eddie’s campaign commercials also lacked some diversity. I did not see enough AA (African Americans) in the TV spots. Also, unless I missed it, when that Orleans group put out the David Duke radio spot, he should have countered with an AA for Rispone spot.

It's not just believable it was expected. Massive Democrat get out the vote effort in Orleans. Buses, church organizations and attack ads targeting the minorities in New Orleans. Rispone was a horrible candidate who ran an incompetent campaign.

Agreed, and they held it until very last when it was the only time JBE really took the lead. Also why does NOLA have 300 something reporting precincts? The city is not that big.

My voting place has about 6 precincts in it. They align specific neighborhoods to each precinct. It’s confusing, but it’s been that way for a while.

And comments like this is why voting turnout was up in Orleans parish.

What comes first? The vote or the assessment of the vote?

In hindsight, a conservative candidate in a deeply conservative state shouldn’t need to rely on the president to carry him across the line. Rispone was an awful candidate and he ran an awful campaign.

Trump visiting NOLA would not have changed anything.

I told the wife that Rispone would lead the entire night and then, JBE would suddenly go ahead at the end. I was thinking it would be with 98% returns in, but it happened instead at the 93% mark.
