Yes. Going eat lunch at school with my granddaughter.
That's cool but the school isn't closed for Veteran's Day?

On the contrary, many of us went into the military to pay for college.

Ironically my wife & kids are off tomorrow while I have to work. I’ll have breakfast at Denny’s, lunch at Red Robin, and dinner will be Little Cesar’s. Won’t cost me a dime.

Let be honest. We both know you will. Happy Veterans Day, brother.

I can't tell you how often I wake up early, picture all the soldiers that are doing PT, smile, and go back to sleep.

I've very rarely done free meals or anything on Veteran's Day, I might get a coffee but that's it. While stationed in Pennsylvania I'd go to the Wawa outside of the base on my way in and often I'd get to the cashier only to find out somebody had already paid for my coffee. Always appreciated but I haven't been in 20+ years for free stuff.

I’ve only been here about a month and a half so I’m just getting little freedoms so I can’t confirm yet. It’s hell of a lot better than Leonard Wood I can tell you that.

AIT at Ft Sam was by far tougher than basic training for me. I couldn’t tell you what it’s like now, as that was 25 years ago.

I’ll be grabbing IHOP for breakfast, chili’s for lunch, and saving my fancy Olive Garden meal for dinner. Probably pick up a little ceasars lunch combo for later too. Even though you sit on your high horse looking down at your fellow vets, I’ll still enjoy my free unlimited salad and breadsticks.

HHD, 1st Battalion (91-92). Back when it was 3rd Brigade in D Quad. I was the Medical Platoon Leader (45). We had 1-27 (Wolfhound), 4-27 (No Fear) and 4-87 (Catamount). The 2-27 was in 7th ID (before the division inactivated and then later reactivated).
