Horrible people, horrible experience. They are rude and entitled. They won't even talk about how Little Nicky proved his chops at LSU. Never going back and not spending one penny in that horrible state including Gulf Shores (aka shite hole of the gulf).

I have never had a bad time there. They cheer for their team and really don't care about yours. I've been three times and LSU has won every time, so its been a pretty good experience for me not to have to endure Rammer Jammer. Which by the way is the absolute worst "tradition" in all of sports.

Also: Bama puts you all the way up in the nose bleeds....
But Boy does "Geaux"... "Tigers" echo all the way up and down those spirals after the game.

Tuscaloosa is a fun town. They do a great job on the gameday experience. Lots of partying. They love to talk about football and the upcoming game. It will almost always get to them wanting you to admit Bama is the GOAT and nobody has a shite against them. Nothing too bad, and they don't get upset if you don't go there. I think it's just an instinct. You'll get a lot of "but man, you gotta admit, this Bama team seems unbeatable" or "I don't think anyone can stop x player this year, you know?"

Post-game: I've been threatened with an arse beating by at least one person/group after the wins in 05 (also took a shoulder to the chest leaving the stadium this year), 07, and 11. In 05, one frat kid ran towards me and a friend yelling about killing us while we were standing on the sidewalk talking to each other waiting on a ride. He did it right in front of a cop, though, so they scooped him up and took him off in the car.

Have a blast Friday and Saturday before the game. After, if we lose, have a blast too. If we win, have a blast still, just watch your surroundings and don't provoke anyone. They also tend not to party too much after a loss, so don't be shocked if it's dead around town in that case.

95% of people out there are good folks. That's as good as you can expect anywhere else.

tuscaloosa is very, very fun on a friday night before the game, and also on saturday leading up to the game.

it is going to be terrible, win or lose, on saturday after the game.

enjoy your time.

Decent fans but the pom poms are ghey as hell. The opposing seats are high up. Previous posters were right about not expecting invites to tailgates...but who wants to party with Gumps anyway.
Last time I went was GOTC. Found an LSU tailgate that was lit as hell. Giant purple and gold balloon type structure complete with P/G stripper pole.....which the women folk in our group put to good use.

I've been twice. Honestly, it's the most hospitable fanbase in the SEC. I still hate them all, but they were nice.

Be prepared for this Bear Bryant video they play. I swear it's like the bugler just stated playing TAPs. Everyone immediately froze and stared at the screens until it was obey...They do love some hero worship.

The strength coach doing loud gay cheers on the big screen every break, turned up to 11, gets old real quick.

Worst part of the experience.

The students, just like anywhere else, are going to be jerks. Everyone else is generally relaxed. I've always had a good time.

Do they still have him screaming "yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah" at the top of his lungs?

That, and the sound of the elephant trumpeting are both annoying as hell.

I was surprised at how little interaction there is between their band and the crowd. I did think it was pretty cool when their band played "Basket Case" to start the 4th quarter and the tubas danced in the endzone.

I had a good time there but be prepared to be hit constantly with their pom poms on the way out of the stadium.

When I went there wearing my LSU colors and got treated well. Of course we beat them that year too. You shouldn't have a problem unless you act like an arse.
