Hi ct, so today has gone really well. The kidney has worked almost immediately, no “sleepy kidney” issues where it takes the organ some time to begin working well. We really do have a great match/donor.
No complications. Things going pretty much by the book.
We’ve been in very good hands with a super group of caregivers throughout.
They take his immune system down to almost nothing these first few days so watching for infection is the biggest hurdle I think right now.
If all goes as planned he could be released by the end of the week.
