The Ouachita Parish Sheriff's Office is asking for help in the search for a missing five-year-old Labrador retriever investigators believe was sold by a trainer
The dog is at the center of a theft investigation that started on Sept. 21.
Lester Langley, age 44, is facing one count of felony theft connected to the disappearance of "Ace."
According to OPSO, Ace weighs 70 to 75 pounds and does not have any distinctive markings. He does have an identification chip in his neck that can be scanned.
OPSO said Langley allegedly took the dog to Wisconsin for the summer, and Ace has not been returned to his owner. Langley told investigators Ace died, but they believe hew as sold.

We need to increase penalties on dog trafficking.

We need Boat Motor Bandit to fill us in on the details

Ok, didn’t someone tell us the owner exhumed his dog on the same day Lester was arrested???
Possible owners dog was de-chipped and then re-chipped into an imposter dog?
Shiate got a 60 min special written all ovah it.

David, I told you that you would get much better traction with this on the OB. This would have died the day you posted it back on the OT.

This is what I don't understand. I had a Chessie that went to a trainer and they would call me every 2-4 days to give me updates and progress reports.
Is it common to drop a dog off at a trainer and not talk or visit with them for 3 months?

Lots of trainers shag arse up North to beat the heat this time of year so I guess some guys go radio silent when they leave but this story has Jerry Springer written all over it.

Text is what most do today since phone calls typically involve more time and they would be on the phone non stop while trying to work. Usually calls are made after trial is over to report on placements or problems.
This was a finished dog bought from a nationally known pro as a washout, dog had points and wasn’t an average washout.
I usually talked to new dog clients a couple times per week to give progress reports and tapered off once we were out of the danger zone. Probably gave my clients too much access to my time but that’s just how I worked. Wives and girlfriends were typically not on my call lists since they could be a PIA.

You ever bury a 75# dog? That's a damn big hole you have to dig.

My 80# lab excels in digging massive holes. Bet she could dig a grave in minutes
Posted on 10/1/19 at 8:53 pm to TheCurmudgeon
I had to dig one this weekend. Second time in my life I’ve had to do that as an adult. Ironically, both were 13 years old. Hard as hell to dig in concrete like clay while bawling like a child. It’s gotten much harder as I’ve gotten older. To think that someone would lie about my dog like that would drive me to do some pretty hard things.

Try it while one is watching you.
Sauce says owner believes dog died and was buried up north. Doesn’t know why the elaborate story has been made up.
