And Tulane got royally screwed on the unnecessary roughness call,

The one where the QB stopped, was standing relaxed with the ball at his side, and two Tulane linemen ran him over?

I root for Tulane. Rivalry died a long time ago.

I like their coach, if he could get some better talent they could have a nice little program.
I still don't know what LSU saw in McMillan but congrats, he's winning and that's the only stat that matters.

That was sooo long ago. That's like twins that are fighting over a girl in high school. They both grow up and get married...(One obviously way more successful then the other!) but still fighting over that girl from high school 40 years ago.

I don't get the hate for them either these days. Congrats to Tulane on the win and the medical research and development this school is responsible for.

Once Brees is gone all the Saints fans will be wearing Tulane jerseys

I think a part of me will die watching a Breesless Saints. My first LSU game was a early 90's game against Tulane. I thought it was a loss but apparently it wasn't. The rivalry has been dead for decades, it would be fun watching Tulane compete to win their conference.

The only ivy you are ever likely to contact is poison ivy.

Yeah. I could see this about 40 years ago when they were a yearly rival, but not today.

I guess it depends on your experience with them. If you are a an LSU grad who has spent some time around Tulane grads, or even a student who has been around Tulane students, you probably get it. If not, I get that you don't get it. When it comes to the academic side, Tulane students/grads are a lot like Bama football fans, without all the National Championships. They are going to let you know that they think Tulane is a superior school to LSU, that they got a superior education and that, whatever this part of their life is that has brought them to the point of having to explain that to an LSU student/grad, it is only temporary until they move on to the better things their Tulane education guarantees them.

I posted this in another thread, but it fits here too.

The diehard Tulane people HATE LSU. They literally look down on LSU as a worthless, shitty public school. Tulane grads will gladly tell you how much better their degree is than your LSU degree. They are not shy about bragging about their 6-figure income. They HATE when LSU has success in sports.

So LSU fans can root for them to win if you want to...just know that they take joy when we lose. They are a different breed of "little brother" then ULL.

Holy shite This is precisely what I was trying to explain in the post below yours, you just did it better. 100% spot-on.

I don’t get it either. They’re no threat to LSU.

I actually hope they do well, unless they are competing with the Tigers.
