Need some direction. Bought a new house and I'm looking to install 6 camera around the property.

Arlo was my choice but reviews said there is significant start lag for video. Nest has the same issues. Any guidance or recommendations? Thanks.

I have been very happy with the Amcrest POE cameras, I have 11 around my place. I use Blue Iris software in a stand alone computer for my NVR. I've had this system for 9 years now and the only issue I had was lightning taking out some of my cameras a couple years ago. The lightning took out more than just the cameras, it was a giant mess.

I used to have my own NVR, but I got tired of having another system to maintain at home... I converted everything to Ring and haven’t had any issues.

If security is a concern there is still no replacement for a hardwired CCTV system with local storage IMO.

I don't know if you ever check the account anymore, but I emailed you a while back.

If you got it and ignored it, that's fine, I know I ask dumb questions.

Have a Lux system with a dvr, 4 cameras hardwired and 2 ip cameras. Never had an issue with lag and the app for iOS works great for checking on things

So no issues with motion input lag?

I like the convince of the wireless, plus I'll have an extra 4tb hard drive with the base unit.

Eh, while wireless is convenient to set up initially, I think that is outweighed in the long run by the inconvenience of having to charge or replace the batteries all the time.

I also have a Lux system installed by a dealer. Get the 8 camera System even if you don’t initially need 8 cameras. By doing so you get a DVR with more storage with the ability to add more cameras later if you choose. With a 4 camera system you would have to buy a another DVR plus the additional cameras if you ever want to expand.

Gulf States Security if you are in the Baton Rouge area.

Blink has been a solid high-quality solution for us. Batteries last about a year at a time and the video quality is great. Cloud storage also makes it easily accessible and the app notifications work great for motion detection.

My season tickets arrived the other day and I was watching my front door camera like a hawk for any package thieves until I got home. Picked up a ton of cars passing, but no issue with the package.

I'll look into Blink, I know the Arlo kit I was looking at had solar charging.

I have a simple Samsung branded cameras with a DVR. 8 cameras, cables, 2T DVR was about $250 about 2 years ago.
No problems.
I echo your opinion about not using wireless. Once setup after running cables, no need to adjust, etc.

Same here. We have 3 Blink XT cameras. I don't pay anything extra for the data storage and the wireless solution has worked very well.
