I can't speak for everyone, but I've never been with someone who has shot an undersized red. First off, if it looks close you don't take the shot. Second, a small moving fish is a hell of a lot harder to hit than a legal fish
this, ive been bowfishing a lot. never ever has anyone shot an undersized red. they look small but once you shoot em and get them in the boat they are 20"

I never really see any redfish that are smaller then 16” while bowfishing. I don’t know if it’s just the areas I go but they all average about 20”.

If LADWF determines the practice does not result in depletion of the resource, why should folks care about the method of harvest?

Eat a dick. I was in ankle deep water and don’t think I stepped on it. If I did, I did not feel it moving.
And why is it their environment? The Bible says people have rule over the animals.

It's not the means, it's the method. It is also perceived that under sized fish are shot and thrown back although I don't subscribe to that.
Redfish enjoy gamefish protection as it pertains to bow fishing in every state except Louisiana.

that belief has done a ton of damage to wildlife and their environment. If there is a god, I would think that he would want us to be responsible stewards of the world he gave us.

I don’t disagree but i can only do so much and teach my kids right or wrong.
I can’t change what a guide in LA decides to do with his clients.
But still. Screw a stingray.

I’ve said this for years. Fuking hate bowfishing for a game fish. Let them shoot all the gar and carp they want.

I pretty much suck at normal fishing.
I can't imagine trying to shoot one with a bow and arrow from a moving boat at night.
God bless the the people that can and hope they have fun.
I'd probably have a better time slamming my dick in a kitchen drawer.

What kind of stupid shite is this! "Bow-fishing at night for reds is the same as spotlighting for deer! Change my mind"
Why the f would I want to change your mind. What is the point of this. Yes both occur at night. got it. Both involve the use of a light. got it. Both involve the killing of game at night. got it.
Who would argue that they are not the same thing? Why does he want to talk with people that think using a light is not using a light or night is not night.
What the hell am I missing.
I guess I should set up a booth with a sign that says: walking and moving forward on your feet slowly are the same thing. Change my mind!

What does this mean?
It means you can not take any gamefish with a bow. Louisiana allows redfish to be taken with a bow despite their gamefish status and it's the only state that does so.
Posted on 8/6/19 at 8:59 pm to HotKoolaid
quote:That's incorrect. Off the top of my head, South Carolina lets you shoot reds. ETA: and Mississippi.

Less than I thought though.

They can shoot redfish because they do not have gamefish status in those states.
