I've always wanted to watch Mike Judge's Tales Of The Tour Bus.

It kicks a serious amount of arse.

Mike Judge missed his calling - he should have been a documentary filmmaker. He's still young enough to do it.

Haven’t seen this one yet but hear good things, looks like you can watch on Amazon for $4.99.

SIDEMEN - Long Road To Glory is an intimate look at the incredible lives and legacies of piano player Pinetop Perkins, drummer Willie 'Big Eyes' Smith and guitarist Hubert Sumlin, all Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf sidemen. The film captures some of the last interviews and their final live performances together, before their deaths in 2011. The historic live shows are accompanied by performances and personal insights from many of the blues and rock stars these legendary sidemen inspired including; Bonnie Raitt, Gregg Allman, Derek Trucks, Shemekia Copeland, Robby Krieger, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Joe Perry, Joe Bonamassa and Johnny Winter.

Narrated by Marc Maron. I’ve heard him talking about it on his WTF podcast.

The Muscle Shoals Documentary is phenomenal. I recently took a tour of the studio and was able to meet several key players. Incredible room.

The Stones did some great stuff there. ...3 songs off Sticky Fingers.... Brown Sugar, You Gotta Move and Wild Horses.

Late to the party on this but a couple of recs:

Gimme Shelter (Stones) - one of the GOATS. Everyone should watch once. Great footage.

Kurt Cobain - Montage of Heck - Really well done. Ending is kind of haunting.

The Devil and Daniel Johnston - Pretty fascinating. As much about mental illness as music.

Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow - Even if you aren’t a LS fan, this one is great.

The Blues Accordin' to Lightnin' Hopkins (1968) - Short but good

Deep Blues: A Musical Pilgrimage to the Crossroads - Cool doc featuring my man RL Burnside and others

Also, agree with the Mike Judge “Tales from the Tour Bus” recs. Those are awesome.

Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White

The intro to that is so good. Jack White straight up making a guitar and amp out of wood, nails, and string and then just jamming out on it.

Not that I was ever some big U2 fan, but it made me not like The Edge. He was like the complete opposite of jack White. Dude looked at playing the guitar as like a science and wanted everything to be fine tuned to a T. I was like cmon dude, just play the guitar and not create a science project.

Another one that hasnt been mentioned: Searching for Sugar Man. Not just one of the best movie documentaries, it is one of the best documentaries in general.
