I think at this point we should only take deals that are stupid overpays in our favor. Like turning one asset into three assets down the road, etc.

That's what the well run teams do. They have enough margin for error that they are able to wait for the right opportunity to come along.

I also think we as fans are looking too much for finished products when part of what this new front office is supposed to be improving is scouting and player development. Get Turner, who is essentially a role playing starter, or take a shot on Garland who has star potential and find a player using cheaper assets to develop into a solid stretch 5? This FO should be doing the latter.

I agree 100%. With where we're at right now, I feel like we can take a big swing with this #4 pick. I'm of the mindset that im fine getting a bunch of young, early lottery picks, let them play through the early struggles and see who develops. No rush building a playoff team this year. Building a core and a culture is more important. Watching a young, exciting team develop will be fun as hell next year.

Agreed. The difference between good and great teams isn’t a bunch of role players, it’s stars. These draft picks are chances at stars. You can find role players other ways.

Agree 100%. Sign some cheap 5 on a short deal, someone like Dedmon (seems to be on everyone's list), Jamychal Green, Taj Gibson. Draft Garland, let him develop with mentor-ship from Jrue for a couple years. IMO Zion's most impactful position is going to be small ball 5, so I don't really want to spend 20 mil on a 5. Cheap 5, shooters, develop young talent.

That’s basically where I’m at Tiger. I starting to narrow down my want to Garland or trade. My ideal trade is Turner and 18 for 4 and we can draft a shooter in Cam Johnson at 18. Also, I’m all for resigning Niko in FA as one of our bigs either as the starter or 3rd big off the bench.
