Colorado has now generated more than $1 billion in total state revenue from the legal marijuana industry, another milestone for the state that legalized cannabis in 2014.

Colorado already has posted some big numbers: More than $6 billion in total sales of cannabis since the birth of the new industry — over $6.5 billion at the end of May, according to just-released monthly data from the state. And the state’s revenue from adult-use marijuana sales has accelerated.

I hate it when people use tax revenue generation as a selling point

Again, this is misleading.

People are buying marijuana, but they are doing so by switching their spending habits to mj from other products.

Every dollar spent on mj is a dollar not spent elsewhere, so the billion dollars in revenue doesn’t represent an actual gain in a billion dollars for the state, it just means the state lost a billion dollars in sales tax revenue in other industries which is now being spent in mj shops.

We call this substitution effect in economics

Mississippi could solve it’s infrastructure problems by bringing the lottery to the state and legalizing marijuana but we would never do that.

And we could raise teacher pay but no one wants easy solutions to hard problems

Sad we are willing to sell out our morals for the dollar and a quick high. Broken families, welfare queens, overweight, drug heads. All that makes up this country anymore. Satan continues to do his work, God will judge this nation harshly one day. Sad how far we have fallen

AL and MS could lead the country in production with the black belt seam. Just too retarded to take advantage.

I know they were having issues with people going to their dealers, because the state shite was super expensive. Did they ever fix the market?

This is why the street dealers and black market are still thriving.
