All in the Family sucked IMO but the Jeffersons were pretty good.

Casting makes a huge difference no matter the script.Carrol O'Connor and Rob Reiner were as good as it gets in their roles

Not close... wasn't close to what the original productions were.

Somewhat dated and casting didn't match.

I mean it was a one night special. I think you’re expecting a little too much of people playing already established characters for one night.

I assumed that was part of why they did this. See which words they could say back then that they can't say now, and knowing that modern audiences are all woke to the struggle and have no idea how things used to be.

Not bad but Woody was trying so hard to imitate Archie’s Brooklyn accent that it came out like a New Englander.

Marla Gibbs was a nice surprise but I wonder if they dropped Justina Machado last minute or did she come down with something and they just threw Marla Gibbs in to play Florence.

ABC should do this again. Maybe with a Happy Days/Laverne and Shirley tribute. Or maybe do other Lear/ATF spinoff shows like Maude and Good Times.

What they could NEVER do is a remake of Blazing Saddles..the PC Police would go insane.

"One wrong move and the N-Word gets it?" Somehow it just doesn't work.

The Dom De Luise scenes with the gay dancers? The LGBTQEIEIO crowd would burn the studio.

theyre using the original script..Archie calls Jefferson "colored people" Archie and Mr J were both racist and used the words ..thats something TV would never do today

I just wish they could have substituted today’s culture and events. Like the opening scene with the radio, and substitute Nixon for Trump. I know they kept it Nixon not to rile up the Trump folks, but by choosing that episode with that opening almost sound like they were trying to be very subtle trying to make Archie a Trump supporter.

If I was writing this, I would have even threw a MAGA hat somewhere in the script.

You & I both know they would both eat that shite up.

The "It's true! It's true!" part would have some people up in arms though.

Watching a highly talented guy like Fox try to pull off George Jefferson (and not do it full justice) only confirmed how amazing Sherman Hemsley was.

Foxx is also too tall! George's Napoleon complex was a crucial element of his character!
