Should I turn over my accident to an attorney?

I was recently involved in a car accident where the person behind me ran into the back of me. He was in a big pickup truck and I was in a small car.
I was very sore for two weeks afterward and I still have some slight discomfort in my back and neck. I went to the doctor a couple days after the accident when I started feeling bad and they said it was a neck and back sprain (basically whiplash). Told me to go back if it didn't get better in 5 days.
It didn't get better so I went back for a more thorough examination and they still said it was all muscular and nothing to worry about. That gave me peace of mind to know it wasn't anything serious.
Well now I've accrued upwards of $200 worth of doctor bills that I've paid out of pocket and missed a couple days of work. I've sent the medical claims adjuster copies of my receipts and medical records and gave her the time of day I'm available to talk (my lunch hour).
She has tried calling me three times so far and each time was HOURS outside of the window I told her I'd be available. I understand I can't realistically expect her schedule to mesh with mine but dammit I can't be expected to step out of the office to take her call at odd hours of the day. Especially when my employer doesn't allow personal phone calls except in the rare instance it's a real emergency.
I want my money back. Should I just hand it over to an attorney? I'm sure an attorney would get her attention and would settle this probably with one phone call. I hate to go that route but at this point I'd feel like I would be paying an attorney to basically get it taken care of for me so I don't have to deal with it.
What's y'all's opinion?

I know it’s not a lot of money and probably child’s play for most attorneys but that’s $200 of my money that I had to spend that they owe me. I’m ready to get everything settled and move on but they’re making it difficult.

No, getting an attorney wouldn't "settle this with one phone call". It would create even more delays, and if you're only out $200 and a couple days of work, you're not going to find a decent, competent attorney to take the case on contingency if there is no larger $$ to recover. A good attorney will charge you to get involved.
Seriously, the only possible time you can talk is at lunch? No early AM, no later in the evening? Sure, you can't talk while you're at work, but you're not at work 24 hrs a day (apologies if you are a firefighter at the station 24/7 for a 3/4 day period). Call/email/text and suggest a broader range of times that will work for you.

I don’t care about paying the attorney. I just mostly don’t want to deal with it anymore and I know if an attorney goes after it I’ll end up getting my $200 back plus some. I just hate to go that route.
She’s already told me she isn’t available before or after my work hours via email when we first set up the claim but she refuses to email now, she only calls. When I’m not available.

At this point a lawyer is just going to prolong the process even further. I'd wait until I can talk to the medical adjuster before going that route. And with just two doctor's visits and a couple days missed work, the quality of lawyer you'll get to take the case may not be the best. Can't you call her now? I'd just keep calling her on your time every chance you get. Squeaky wheel gets the grease.

From my understanding they typically don't cut the check until you're done with the doctors.

Get an attorney if you want someone to suggest you get a spinal fusion, become addicted to opioids and commit suicide

Yep. Here's what you're looking at getting. $200 for doctor's visits, payment for the 2 days of work missed, and possibly a small "pain and suffering" offer in exchange for a waiver that you won't seek anything more from them. Not all carriers will offer the additional amount though. If you're still in some pain/dsicomfort, I'd refuse that offer right now until you're comfortable all symptoms are gone.

Sadly, an attorney could likely get him a $5000 offer with one phone call. So, he'd net about $3k.

hell most companies will offer 2k just to sign a release.

No chance.
The only way is to get the claimant to keep treating and driving of the medicals. Plus the second you get an attorney on it you can ad months to the claim.

So you can't take a phone call to handle a serious matter, but you can post on an internet message board?

This can't be stated enough. I have a relative that had an accident similar to yours. Closed it out within a month, but the symptoms lingered for over a year. Wasn't anything major, but had to constantly fight his personal insurance to get treatment.
Lawyer may not be the worst idea. Can hook you up with some therapy around your work schedule. Also, decent attorneys don't take %ages from medical claims. Will get you pain & suffering and take their cut from there

Just work it out with the adjuster. They will pay your more than you need.

Having experience in the claims world this is baby money. Your 200 dollars in medical bills and couple days of lost work is not even a drop in the bucket. Spend 10 minutes negotiating with the adjuster and you can easily walk out with 2k in your pocket and be done with it.
Also, please don’t google ways to increase an injury claim and tell the adjuster you pissed yourself after the accident. It does absolutely nothing for your claim and makes you look like the retarded Culcha trash that’s plagues the state of Louisiana
Might I ask what insurance company your dealing with?

I wouldn’t sign anything until you are asymptomatic. You are probably going to be sore for a few weeks to months

No. Some people are entitled...
