Plus, we are not in the Wild West. You will never be in a quick draw showdown. If you ever find yourself in that situation, you waited too late to pull your weapon.

True enough but shite can go sideways in a hurry. The time it takes you to rack the slide can be the difference between life and death. I wouldn’t walk around with a 1911 cocked and locked but a double action handgun with a 7 lb trigger pull is pretty safe to carry with one in the pipe.
