Key difference - Bosch air dries whereas KA has a heating element for drying We went with KA primarily for complete drying and have been satisfied. The key complaint with Bosch is wet dishes!

Sorry to bump an old post, but I'm currently trying to decide between a Bosch or KitchenAid.

I truly can't decide.

I definitely see more minor complaints against Bosch, like the rack design/quality. However, I've seen some complaints about KitchenAids failing within the first year.

We have a Bosch and it's been a great dishwasher. You don't hear it running and will clean anything you put in it.

We had a kitchen aide that we ended up giving away a year in. It just didn’t clean great.

Bosch. I have two. Best appliance I’ve ever had.

I'd look at replacement parts/racks first just to price compare. Dishwashers generally aren't so expensive that it's cost prohibitive to just get a new one. GE is hit or miss, but their parts are easy to come by.

I have both. I prefer the KitchenAid. It's older than my Bosch but it cleans better. I use it most days and haven't had any problems. The Bosch is quiet and I like the third rack but it has been glitchy.

We went with a whirlpool after we got rid of our kitchen aid and have no regrets.

Bosch owner here, its quite and cleans well but hate hate hate how the racks are laid out. Who ever designed the spacing and configuration for loading the SOB has never actually owned dishware / cookware. I bought the damn thing without seeing a floor model. Never again. frick whoever designed piece of shite dishwasher.

Can you actually get a Bosch right now? Every Home Depot, Lowe’s and Best Buy around me (ATL suburbs) shows them online as back ordered or not available.

Love our Bosch but it's so quiet you have to look at light indicator to see if it's running. Will buy another when it's time

We like ours too. It's strongpoint is the quietness. I'm not really happy about the drying, though. Many items don't dry well because there is no exposed heating element or fan and the steam stays trapped in the unit. Drying depends heavily on chemical rinse aid.

My Bosch is horrible. You can’t fit shite in it, it’s not all that quiet, the bottom rack slides out too easily and even on extra dry setting the tops of cups are still wet.

Go Kitchenaid.

IKR. I just spent 10 hours looking for the top models of KitchAid and Bosch all across the internet. I even checked local appliance places. Everything is unavailable, out of stock, or backordered.

I finally decided to check Wayfair (of all places) and they had 1 left of the model I was interested in. It's the stainless black and I prefer black, but I really don't feel like waiting weeks to months. It says it would get to be me by Friday.

After these latest comments I am starting to lean back to KitchenAid. It's crazy. I agree that Whirpool or something is probably just the best route to go.

I still can't believe how difficult it is to find any KitchenAids or Bosch right now. Then again, I guess I can beleive it. I imagine most factories were shut down or limited from covid. And then you got a ton of people buying appliances with their stimulus money. Not a good combo.

I was slightly concerned about using a chemical rinse aid (as well as potential extra costs), but I read to try using vinegar instead of it. I heard it may work in place of it?

If you do Bosch, don’t buy one that isn’t metal cased inside. We got one and it was great. Sold the house and put a new one in our new kitchen. Mistake was in getting a plastic cased interior. Much more flimsy. Didn’t clean as well, and while it was quiet, not as quiet as our first one. Otherwise, best advice is don’t cheap out on KA or Whirlpool or Bosch.
Our present model is an old Frigidaire that will croak soon. I think we’ll go for a good whirlpool.
