He barely missed a 52 yard field goal. Leave him alone.

It didn’t barely make it. It went right by like 2 yards, but he definitely had the leg to the get it there, it was almost at the top of the goal posts from what I remember.

The missed 52 yard field goal was better than a 39 yard punt.

Didn't Brees check out of the original playcall at the line?
Yeah, and something he called was very familiar to Jenkins as he called everyone up to the line as soon as Brees checked out of the play. He knew what the call was.

Little worried he failed on his first truly pressure kick. Hopefully he got it out of his system.

Terrible play before the FG coming out of a timeout to take that loss. If Philly wins 21-20, the focus today would have been pointed that way.

Watching him in pre-game warmups, he was not hitting the ball well at all. Most of his kicks were very low, so I was hoping he did not get a kick blocked.

The Minnesota kicks last year were more pressure filled and he drilled them.

In Nola.com they stated he kicked the ground before the ball

Wow, please don’t do this again Lutz

After the loss on the previous play I really question going for the long FG. To me a 50+ yarder is a 50% chance anyway.

I know we were only up 6 points but the way the defense was playing I think I would have taken the chance to grab another 20+ yards in field position.

Knowing that Philly needed a TD and that most of their passes were of the quick slant variety if Morstead gets one inside the 20 or especially the 10 then it becomes even more difficult.

Yeah, I though I read Payton was upset at Brees for changing the play. Can't remember where I saw that.

Jeff Duncan ?Verified account @JeffDuncan_ Sean Payton was not happy with that last third down play. He barked at Drew Brees as he came off the field. Wondering if Brees changed the play at the line of scrimmage. Eagles blew it up in the backfield and forced a long field goal try, which Will Lutz missed wide right.

The special teams was a mixed bag. Yeah, we had the fake punt, but also lots of penalties and the missed FG. All phases were rusty yesterday.

I blame the play calling. Took a 47 yard FG and turned it into a 52. Still his job to make it, but why make it harder on your players with a terrible play call?
How was that a terrible play call?

Running was certainly the right call there. The execution of the lineman getting penetration deep into our backfield was the issue, but not the play call.

The snap was high and off-center. I think it fricked up his timing.

That wasn't his first pressure kick.

Anything outside of 50 yards is probably a 50/50 chance. Yes, it could have hurt. But if we would have lost 21-20, it would be because the defense gave up a late TD. THAT's where the focus would have been pointed.

Have a feeling he gonna play a big part in our next game. Can easily see this one coming down to a last second fg
