It’s apparently clear that we need not just a good but great QB 5 star QB and Elite talent on the O-line and D-line to even compete for or in the playoffs we’re not even close and it pains me to say it

Agreed especially Def front 7 that’s where the biggest difference has been on the field and on the recruiting trail between LSU and Alabama offensive line and front 7 on defense and of course QB

And 2 of them had zero chance to win. College football is utter garbage right now, the coaching is the worst it’s been in my lifetime and programs are losing way too many young kids both to the NFL and transfer.

And without those elite offenses, neither team makes it to the National Championship Game because there were times throughout the season that both Clemson & Alabama needed their offenses to bail out their defenses.

Defense baw. If they can't score we can't lose. I would rather have a stronger defense than offense if I had to choose one. Every time.
