I know Ethernet is favored over WiFi if that option is available. Is the main advantage that it shows a better picture, reduces the chance of buffering, or both?

I guess what I’m trying to figure out is it more of the streaming device and tv or the connection that gives the better quality.

Hard wire will almost always be better than wireless, but for just streaming you probably wouldn't notice the difference.

Latency is the main issue but thats not a big deal for streamers.

Ethernet is more stable and has much better latency. For streaming, as long as your wifi connection is stable enough you won't notice much difference. Ethernet shines for gaming and large file transfers. General use and convenience....wifi is King

Most people have plenty of Internet speed. 5-10mbit for standard streaming, 20-25mbit for 4k.

The service you are using is probably the largest factor in streaming quality
