lots of good DCs out there. Aranda is better than the vast majority of them but he's not so elite we'd crater without him because the gap between him and our options was so vast. hell just look at TAMU. they whiffed on Aranda and got Elkso who is great. we'd likely make a similar exchange

This is obviously true but is O capable of hiring a comparable replacement? I suspect we’re paying Aranda 2.5 because we already know that answer.

I’d bet a lot Clancy Pendergast is our next DC if/when Aranda leaves

E is not going anywhere.

We are losing a decent bit between seniors and early junior defections in Greedy, White, and I am pretty sure Lawrence is gone and possibly Fehoko.

We are losing our best players from each unit most likely. Delpit is the only beast returning on defense and Chaisson will depend on how he recovers.

On offense, we will lose experience on the OL and I think our OL coach is awful, so even with the incoming talent, I don’t think we will improve much there.

WR might see some defections. Too many guys and not enough snaps to go around. En is okay and Emery will be a boost but with a weak OL I don’t see this team running like the old days.

Burrow will have more time in whatever the system is but his passing needs to improve and unless pass protection gets better, he’s going to get hurt.

We also have no QB coach. Spare me on E. He’s failed on that front year after year in his career save one player 25 years ago.

I think with other teams improving, LSU will be back where they are 2nd in the West at best and maybe as far down as 4th.

I’ll give cregg another 1-2 years where his hands aren’t tied by Grimes’ guards-come-tackles

Go ahead and explain to me why I should be confident in Orgeron hiring a legitimately good defensive coordinator.

we better make a huge jump next year b/c we should be returning almost the entire OL. if the talent stays the same, improvement is on coaching and the lack of improvement is also on coaching

Ed was his own DC for 2 years at Ole Miss, then hires John Thompson in year 3 who coached at 178 different spots

Offensively, he hired Noel Mazzone, who had/has a good rep. Replaced him in year 2 with his old Miami buddy Dan Werner

You’re right to question his coordinator hirings

He was an assistant OL coach not freaking OL coach there.

He’s proven nothing as the main guy there. Hell, McMahon has a picture like that and yet our return game regressed under him to its west level on probably a decade. Guy was fired from the Saints because of the same shite.

Creggs is overrated and unproven. Period. The regression of the players on the OL isn’t because of injuries. It’s on coaching when it is across the board.

the schedule won’t be quite as tough as this year. we’ll have revenge games against UF and A&M at home which is pretty huge. There’s 0 chance we beat bama in Tuscaloosa if Tua is healthy. it’s that simple. 11-1 is what we’ll get if we improve from this year. 10-2 is what we’ll get if we match our play from this year. 9-3 is what we get if we regress from this year.

I know, it was a joke, a notorious O pumper (perhaps a friend or relative) Tiger Ree made a big deal about Cregg having a SB ring and posted that pic a lot

I thought it was a good hire and will give home a pass for this year given the injuries/shake up on the OL

Fulton, Phillips, & Divinity are all sec type players.

Glen Logan leads all our DL in sacks.

Vincent And Jacoby Stevens have flashed hard the last 2 weeks.

I dont think Lawrence leaves. He's only 20. No rush.

Tyler Taylor is rumored to get cleared.

we lose 1 OL next year and that is Brumfield. You add Rosenthal and Kardell Thomas into the mix, as well as Ed Ingram potentially.

Health will be huge for this group. And will have a ton of flexibility.

It's not like we brought him in, he was already here. Call it an interim season, that's what it has looked like. He doesn't even want the role, let him go back to TEs and add someone else. I'm not mad at E, just O for forcing E into it.

Ummm.... no, it’s not. We’ve got a stud rocket launcher coming in to fill this gap.

Umm we don’t need a guy with a big leg (we already have that). We need a guy that knocks down all the kicks he is supposed to from 45 and in.
