Your thoughts choupiquesushi? This was Ron Brocato a few weeks ago
Shaw's long term enrollment trend does not lend itself to competing in 5a or Div I(not that Div II is any easier(because it is more top heavy) - but they would be more competitive across the board in more sports in that 4a or the next 4a district.
I know for a fact the catholic league schools were not in agreement with the play in class agenda (most notably jesuit, st aug and shaw. I think Shaw needs to stop the bleeding and play in their proper class as the demographics in NO and private school attendance as a whole continues to decline - so will the issues that plaque shaw. As for attendance, since the split spread to all sports attendance at all catholic league sports continues to decline anyone denying that is simply not looking at the stands..... Ron has made his living off of the catholic league - he knows full well that if shaw leaves(that's a whole lot of devout alumni that won't be reading his prose) As you know it is not my alma mater but Shaw has a special place for me as I was involved there for many years, I wish they could return to like they were.

They pick up the Clarion Herald at Church, not at school ;)
We have discussed Shaw's slow decline and our mutual disappointment. I guess I was part of the problem in going to school across the river back when.
