The team has some problems on the defensive front. MSU has a great running offense and a stout defense. I think the offense will have to carry the water this Saturday. Hopefully the D can get enough stops. I think it will be a real struggle.

If LSU wins the much credit to 0.

Agree but the real test to me is how up/down they are to play after a big win. Can’t come out flat

Agreed. It’s a big game, IMHO we could go anywhere from 8-4 to 10-2 right now. We win this game I’m expecting a 10-2 regular season.

Don’t kid yourself, every game is a measure. Just the way it is these days.

I thought the real test was pummeling the #2 team in the country.

Why? O does not run the offense or defensive side of the ball. That's what his coordinators are there for. O's job is to get the team mentally prepared every week and recruit at an extremely high level.

And where will you stand after we beat MSU then bama pushes our shite in?
You are just like the media. O has done a great job but some people just can't give the man credit. I remember reading all the doomsday predictions. Yet, somehow, the man is 6-1 with more wins over ranked opponents than anyone this year. And he STILL has more to do to impress some of you?

Don't we have this thread every week, except substituting that week's opponent for MSU?

This game and the A&M game worry me much more than Georgia did.

Orgeron has every opportunity to prove that he can put together a successful season.

Calling him “0” is a great way to show your objectivity.

It is a "restoring the order" game for LSU.

The great coaches get their teams up for every game, no matter the opponent that week or prior or future weeks.

We had a huge, emotional win on Saturday. Let's see how the team responds to a disappointing MSU team tomorrow.

I don’t know if i can make Mississippi State some kind of big measuring stick for anything. LSU normally plays pretty well at home and that’s why the Georgia outcome didn’t surprise me. Well, let me restate that. The three touchdowns win did surprise me. Now, I do believe that the Bama game will be a measuring stick to some degree.

With some fans, O is measured on every game. So beating 3 top ten teams, he is still measured by a #22 ranked team. If he wins out and loses to a&m some will be calling for his head. It is just how it is in these crazy times we live in.

1) There are a handful of people who will never accept Orgeron simply because they are pissed he was ever hired. You'll find these same people protesting on the streets because Hillary lost.

2) Every game is the measure of a coach at this level. On top of winning, consistency and continuity has to be established.

3) He's obviously better than some thought, but you can't grade a coach until he's had several years to build a program. This recruiting year and next season are a bigger marker of how he can run a program.

Boy you can't wait to criticize CEO. Looking at your past posts until he wins the Sec championship you look at him as a failure. In essence, you have just declared most of the head coaches in the SEC as failures. By the way he beat last year's SEC championship coach.

To be fair, Orgeron isn't scheming on either side of the ball. He's completely reliant on both of his coordinators for that. He can only control the big picture which means he (a) MUST make sure the whole team is focused coming off a huge win in a game they dominated and (b) has to make the critical in game decisions judging the flow of the game -- i.e. when to be aggressive and go for it on fourth down or when to punt/kick FG; when to try a trick play (if applicable)
