I didn’t like the Orgeron hire. I didn’t like the Ensminger promotion.

That said, it is what it is. That’s what we’ve got for this year and next.

I hope they perform well, and I’ll be rooting for them. But if they don’t, we will have a new coach and OC in 2020.

Despite not agreeing with the hire(s), I have seen glimpses of the LSU offense moving in the right direction. It doesn’t feel like we are “beating our heads against the wall” on offense like in the past. Is the production and consistency and execution where it needs to be?... absolutely not, but I do think they’ve made some progress in moving our offense forward.

Let’s see how 2018 plays out before labeling it all a failure. I’m interested to see what we do the rest of this season.

I’m as critical as the next guy when it comes to the LSU offense...except when it comes to the “fire someone immediately” talk.

Maybe we beat Georgia this weekend. Not likely, but neither was beating Auburn last year.

Ensminger’s playcalling has been good at times. What’s to say it can’t be again, even as early as this weekend?

Some here need to stop acting like nothing’s wrong.
Others need to stop acting like nothing’s right.

Maybe you should just shut up and stop saying it.

WHY do we have sup-par players and second string players that can not be effective?

We are 5-1 somehow despite getting down to our 11th different offensive lineman last week. With 6 different rotations.

Please define “cannot be effective”.

New OC, new QB that got here in June, with New RBs & new WRs, and a different OL every week & you expected what exactly? Pure harmony?

I said that he should have never been hired to begin with. No other team would consider that stupidity. At LSU, do you believe that he was hired to lose to Troy and finish 9-4, with a bowl loss? If not, then you can't call the season a success. If it is not a success, then what is it?

MANY new starting QBs play very, very well, all over the country, and have for many years.

This is just an excuse.

And by the way, Burrow's quite good, and he isn't the problem.

“ I can’t think of another major program that would make a similar hire”

That’s been said many times and by many different posters. The thing is, the head coach has to have the ability to hire the guys he thinks is best whether or not any of us fans agree.

Therefore the problem, if there is one, rest with the head coach. The disturbing thing for LSU fans is that our offense hasn’t shown any productive improvement basically since 2014.

Surely you acknowledge the difference between 2 months of preparation as opposed to practicing sometimes years with the same coordinator & players.

I agree with you but the call that still has me shaking my head is the jet sweep down there after we had been moving the ball at will and we haven’t really used it much (if at all) this season. We had a good rhythm going. To me, that’s on Ensminger.

LSU returned very little production at the skill positions.

Hes been the head coach for 3 seasons (and recruiting coordinator before that). Most kids graduate in 4 years, or go pro

He no longer gets a pass for this

Troy loss was horrible, but shite happens.
Even Saban loss to UAB at LSU & ULM at Bama
Team was lacking some serious depth last year.

But you’re still stuck on last year & wants to get rid of a coach who went 9-4 in his first year. Let’s see how the rest of this season plays out first

The offense kinda reminds me of Crowton’s approach to “being multiple” in 07-08 before Les started to code red the passing game.

We really had some good rhythm going in our run game until the first turnover and subsequent field position flip. We need to build off that and our short-middle passing game. The big plays are there.

When you have never been successful, you do not deserve room for error. Please never use Saban's name, while discussing Orgeron. That is just embarrassing. If 9-4 is the expectation, then why waste the money in firing Miles?

Miles was stubborn as frick, his unwillingness to change. Too many times I watched those players get frustrated with Miles & give up. It was simply time for him to go

100 % agree. If we still weren’t paying Les’ buyout I believe they’d be gone already. It really amazes me how when our fans hear the truth about why we play the we play the nut the freak up. The truth hurts people I get it but you gotta face it sooner or later.

I agree about Miles, but you don't replace stubborn with stubborn and unsuccessful.
