Brawl brothers on the snes was a favorite of mine. This genre kind of died when the n64 and oh PlayStation were released.

I never played that one, though I'm sure I have it on my Raspberry Pi. I'll have to check it out.

I liked SOR specially because there seemed to be a little more depth than most beat-em-ups of that era. You could (kind of) tech out of throws, execute rear attacks for enemies sneaking up on you, and use a 3 different types of special moves, one of which was based off of a fairly simple controller input like a traditional fighting game. SOR 3 even introduced "upgrades" for your special move if you racked up enough points without dying.

Also, the soundtracks for those games are top notch. Curious to see what they do with the music for this new entry because that was such a big part of the enjoyment for the original 3.
