Close to NOLA for big city stuff
Housing is affordable
Crime is low provided you lock your car doors. I can't remember the last time someone here was murdered that wasn't domestic violence / druggies shooting each other.

Bogalusa is the black eye of Washington Parish, Franklinton is an ok small town, outside of those two it’s pretty rural which is why a lot of people like it.

I moved to Bossier from West Monroe. Both have great family communities. Bossier schools are some of the best without going private. Crime is almost nonexistent and they have great sports programs for boys and girls that the community shows up for.

The Washington Parish school system seems to be okay. The independent Bogalusa city schools suck.
