I'm about 6 or episodes in to season 1 and I have to say......

What the frick happened to this show?? This first season is fantastic television. If I remember correctly the second season was as well.

CW should have stuck with the whole "this is basically Batman but we're going to call it Arrow" theme they had going to get started.

I agree. This used to be one of my favorite shows and after season 3 the show went to hell as they expanded the cast to this SJW ensemble crap.

They had (and could still have) the only "super hero" on network TV that would straight up kill a motherfricker.

He could have been their Punisher.

To me the big mistake was bringing the supernatural into the show after the first season or so. I know they had to to incorporate it with the other shows but that hurt it in my eyes. Should have kept it separate and kept the more Nolan Batman type of world.

Agreed. And the character in these first two seasons would still work for crossovers where the heroes on those shows are waffling in some moral conundrum and Arrow shows up and just handles shite.

They had Oliver teaching super hero ethics to Flash and they should have had him teaching Flash how far you have to be willing to go to win.

Superhero shows tend to due when they force a live interest

They ran out of worthwhile backstory. Part of what I remember working so well early was the near perfect fit of the flashbacks and the present day story. Switching back and forth between 2 good, semi-connected stories kept it moving with little filler. Now that we've met all the characters and unraveled the mysteries it's become just another superhero show that's on a network aiming at the 25 and under crowd.

It's a combination of running out of ideas and focusing way too much on interpersonal drama.

The season 7 trailer looks promising. To its credit, the show has had great villains. The returning guy included (his name totally escapes me now)

The first season or two I’d hear the flashback sound effect and couldn’t wait to see it. Then at some point I started rolling my eyes at the sound effect. You’re right, the flashbacks were a big issue.

They essentially wrapped it up several times on his Island returns. Amazing that this hard to discover island has been found several times since then.

Ricardo Diaz aka Richard Dragon

Casting of villians and their stories have been consistently very good imo

First two seasons were great tv. Season 1 with the backstory and building of the team, season 2 Deathstroke. Olicity was the beginning of the downfall. Stopped last season.

Season 3 happened. I kept watching until they killed off Earth One Laurel in season four. That was my breaking point. I grew to hate Olicity.

Do you know there is a group completely devoted to replacing Stephen Amell's wife's face with Emily Rickards and constantly create petitions asking Amell to divorce his wife and marry Emily instead?

Yeah, those people are what ruined Arrow: or should I say, the writers thinking those fans are who they need to pander to is the problem.
