We are at 30a and the little July 4th parade was awesome. Never seen so much patriotism at 8am

Some Destin officials and at least one local business official have complained that the floating structures do not make a good impression on visitors traveling over the Marler Bridge.

Stuck up bastard wants those folks at his location eating and drinking, lol...

Destin is just stupid enough to get rid of Crab Island...

A crackdown is needed, but they are going about it the wrong way. There are spots where the water is less than 2' deep and its great for kids to run around. With that said, those same kids are sometimes exposed to drunk assholes playing inappropriate music and lovely ladies of the OT turning it into an outdoor strip club. I rarely take the boat out during the peak summer to avoid all the idiots who rent pontoon boats and have no idea how to drive.

I think the idea to have more driving lanes and more water depth markers is a good start. This would allow the police to patrol batter and crack down on the trash. Closing the floating bars/restaurants wont do anything as petty much everyone out there brings their own food, alcohol and music. The idiot who recommended dredging the island is one of those who would love to see Destin go back to a quiet spot on the map that no one knows about.
