To an extent, but there is just so little cap space this summer and most other teams seem to have defined plans for that space going forward while the Mavs supposedly just want to spend to win with Dirk. So it is easier to project players onto the Mavs roster.

Their team is way too young to win anything.
Smart would be a great fit there, because neither Smith Jr or Doncic are known for their defense.
