Honestly I think apps like Uber eats will ultimately cause more price increases across the board. Some restaurants have low food cost and can handle the 30% cut, but other places have certain items that are high food cost and offer it to get clients in the door in hopes of them buying drinks and other items.
Waitr is not necessarily bringing them new clients either. Many people who would have ordered Togo food directly through their site now just do it through waitr.

I think it is safe to say that Waitr is bringing in additional sales for these businesses. Especially if you market it right and go after businesses for lunch and such. I benefit from working in a chain so the mom & pop side may be different

Ubereats is a different animal. Their 28% charge is ridiculous, and I don't blame a restaurant one bit for increasing their prices in that scenario. I think it's pretty foolish of them if they don't.
Maybe not new clients, but clients that maybe wouldn't have gotten in the car and driven there otherwise. I know both times I used Waitr, I'd have just scrounged something up at the house if not for Waitr being an option. I don't think that applies to all users, but a lot of them. And I'm talking strictly on the delivery option. I don't see the point of using Waitr to place a to-go order. Just call the restaurant yourself.

I feel like this isn’t true. Waitr has given people the option to order food from somewhere that isn’t directly next door.
A few of my friends work in offices where they place a Waitr order daily.
