As a consumer, it comes across as passing off your business expense to me, and that just doesn't sit well with me. If I see a place that is doing that, I'll just opt to order from one that doesn't.

The way I see it, Waitr is bringing you customers you likely otherwise wouldn't have walking through the door. 15% rake is pretty fair for that. I mean, you're paying $1.50 for a $10 entree. I know food margins are very thin, but I can't imagine the extra revenue coming in isn't helping those margins.

I understand and would not fault one for doing so. I already run razor thin, in store margins to bring customers the best prices in the region amongst our franchises. We would not be able to offer delivery without a slight increase. I also have to pay an employee strictly to fill Waitr orders.

It is what it is. Not directed to you, but I never expect the consumer to understand what goes in to pricing. Everything else in the world is going up but people expect food to remain the same

Honestly I think apps like Uber eats will ultimately cause more price increases across the board. Some restaurants have low food cost and can handle the 30% cut, but other places have certain items that are high food cost and offer it to get clients in the door in hopes of them buying drinks and other items.
Waitr is not necessarily bringing them new clients either. Many people who would have ordered Togo food directly through their site now just do it through waitr.
