It’s obvious that there’s a cultural divide in Louisiana, but is the other half of the state really as bad as people claim? I have a hard time seeing there being much difference living in most cities excluding New Orleans. Would northwest Louisiana be an awful place to live compared to the north shore?

If you have to ask like that, you already know.

I've lived in both. They're pretty much the same. Plenty of good people and plenty of shitty people, bad roads, currupt politicians.

Cenla, or Central, LA? Either way, the answer is a resounding "yes".

The best part of the state, bar none, runs from East Carroll parish to Avoyelles parish down the river. At times gets a couple parishes wide toward the West. Better known as the delta. The rest of you are clueless retards.

Central Louisiana is Alexandria, Natchitoches, Leesville, and a shite ton of pine trees and cotton fields. That’s literally it. Nice people. Low cost of living. Decent place to raise a family. But there hasn’t been any excitement around there since about 1863.

I have 3 cousins from Elick, all 3 live along I-10 now (Lafayete, Brusly and BR) and went to back. But if your career allows you to live there and you love the outdoors; it could be a great place to live.

The only people that don’t like north La are betas and homos. If you aren’t beta or homo you have no problem with north La. If someone says they dislike north La, and then say they aren’t beta or homo, they are liars. They are beta, homo, liars.

Yes.

Imagine the north shore, but take away all of the wealth, good restaurants, music venues, seafood, shopping, bars, and fun catholic people, put it 2 hours away from anything resembling civilization, and then add all of the meth/heroin addicts from Slidel and a metric crap-ton of judgy, anti-fun Baptists all up in your business, and you've got North Louisiana and Cenla.

North can be really fun if you live in the right area. I stopped at gas station in west monroe once and thought I was in a 3rd world country.

For whatever reason the hottest girls at LSU for the 16 years I was there were from Bastrop, Funroe area, and then Eunice. Flip flop the order and that’s not denying someone was from somewhere else wasn’t great. On average that Eunice, Ville Platte,
And that area were pretty hot

The only good thing that comes out of south La is Saints football. For the love of all mankind, we get it, y’all are cajuns, you don’t have to remind us every time y’all speak, we don’t care. South Louisianians are the only ones that have to try and compare the 2, we don’t care up here, we just a bunch of baws chewing on pine needles.

It's been stated...depends on where. I spent 3 years in the small bible thumping hell that is Monroe and was miserable.

In the flip side I now live in Shreveport which certainly ain't as bad as people on this board make it out to be. There's crime, but I don't live in a neighborhood where it effects me. There are enough things to do that I'm entertained every weekend, but it's not the overhyped and overcrowded festivals like the ones in NOLA have become. There is a downtown with enough bars to keep me interested and no traffic whatsoever. In 30 mins I can be taking the boat out on the families land outside of Mansfield. I miss the south, but the living really isn't bad up here.
