Almost all 48" ranges come with a grill or griddle instead of 8 burners. If you had to pick grill or griddle, which would you pick?

Pretty sure I've narrowed it down to Thermador or GE Monogram

Griddle. And if in doubt, griddle.

Griddle, plus Thermador has a pretty sweet deal with you being able to get a free dishwasher ($1299) with the purchase of the range.

I've got a 36" Thermador with the griddle. I use it all the time and it works great.

I've had the grill for about 5 years now. I love it and use it often. You have to have a strong exhaust and I have one. It sucks up everything.

I have several cast iron griddles that I put over the burners when I want a griddle, but I use the grill much more often than the griddles.

It really depends on your cooking and which you'd use more. It's pretty easy to use cast iron griddles or other griddles over burners, but you either have a grill or you don't.

Just put 48" six burner with griddle into my kitchen renovation. The griddle gets used as much as the burners, especially for late night drunk sausage and eggs. You can't beat it.

I have trouble believing an over the burner cast iron griddle would work as well. Plus you don't have the catch basin in front to sweep everything into while cooking.

"grilling" in a home kitchen is almost never a good idea. Take that outside.

I have a Viking 48", 6 burners & a griddle. My grill is outdoors...
