Has anyone ever fished offshore with Captain Miles Dixon out of Grand Isle? Our original captain had to unfortunately cancel our date in June and set us up up with Captain Dixon, but I've not personally heard of him before and looking to get some insight. Thanks!

Miles is a personal friend and great captain. He's won his fair share of both inshore and offshore tournaments. I wouldn't be concerned at all, if there is a bite that day I can assure you he will put you on the fish

Miles is on the Rome specialty co pro staff with me. He’s good fisherman and has been at it a while, you’ll have a good trip.

You will be happy, Miles is one hell of a guide. I have been fishing with him couple times and its always a fun successful trip.

I know he stays booked solid so be thankful you got a spot with him.

I've never heard of this guy but if someone doesn't say something bad about this dude soon I may start to think he is not a real person.

Miles is a real douche bag. He loves killing fish and loves drinking beer. Guaranteed you won’t have any fun with that guy.

Actually Miles has a very good deckhand. It was just a little inside joke. I fish with both of them often and I would recommend Nautical Miles if you are looking for a first class fish killing crew.

Was hoping to come here and confirm the rave reviews you all gave of Miles but unfortunately I cannot as I never got a chance to even meet the man. Despite having a text conversation on Wednesday (about the potential for rough seas) and confirming Saturday's departure time on Friday evening (which I had to initiate as he never did get back to me about if the weather was good enough for us to go out) he bumped our trip in favor of an overnight trip for someone else that he must have booked after ours. Now I know how the industry works, so getting bumped to another capable captain/operation didn't bother me so much on the surface. But to not even let us know ahead of time was a chicken shite move. He was clearly withholding information to avoid us canceling the trip all together. We've already booked our annual trip for next year with someone else.

Did you confirm you were going with him specifically? Some guides have someone that works for them and if you book with their charter service it doesn't guarantee you actually book with that guide.
