Single Players Games- Message about their future

I love single player games. I have played video games since the Super Nintendo and as I have grown older, I have owned and played games on just about every major home console or handheld.
Single players experiences are still enjoyed by millions of gamers across the globe. I think that EA was wrong about the future of the medium regarding MMO lite vs single player. What many people don't realize is that corporations are just interested in profits and they see MMO-lite games such as Destiny, Battlefront, Call of Duty, and GTA Online as proof of increased profit margins. There was never "lack of interest" in the model that comprises the majority of video games.
And why does anyone really trust EA after the catastrophe of Battlefront II? Look, I don't care about online connected games, I realize that they are now a staple along with microtransactions. I just hope that developers realize that good single player games can be successful as well.
As a bonus, I could do WITHOUT the toxicity of most online communities. At the end of the day, too many people are sheep, buying content that is at best should have been in the game at launch.

There are plenty of single player games available. However, I've always said games like call of duty sacrifice, to its detriment, the single player mode for online play. I get that there is more money there, but I don't find it acceptable to give me a 6 hour game for 60 bucks.

Battlefield 1942 was the only one of the games they got the campaign right on.

It's not that they were "wrong," it's that they are full of shite. Multiplayer keeps people coming back to the game, making them more likely to purchase microtransactions for a much longer period of time.

I only play single player.
There are many like me.
We are the reason games like SW:Battlefront 1 and Titanfall 1 were disappointed in their sales/reception.
If you make a game with no single-player, I will not purchase the game. Simple formula. I don't buy a game that needs other players to establish a player experience. . .but I am OK with games that add multi as an added experience.

yep, not many people still playing single player 2 or 3 months after they buy a game, much less a year or 2 like multiplayer

FIFY. Yeah I'm still salty about not having a college football game.

I agree. Goldeneye didnt revolutionize FPS with simply a good multiplayer.

Dude, EA would happily spit out ncaa games if it could. Blame the players who sued, not EA in this case.

I know it's the NCAA that stopped it. I'm just lashing out about my favorite sports game.

There is nothing better than a well crafted single player experience.

Not many single player games boast THAT amount of content.

This is true. I'm all for single player games.

The lack of single player games is the sole reason my XBONE sits on the shelf gathering dust. Sony and Nintendo provide me with games I can play by myself, and that's what I prefer.
Looking at the upcoming games list for XBONE is depressing as a single player gamer.

Same with Fallout 4 and Skyrim with mods.

IDK. Multiplayer has a lifespan.
It will lose players and servers through time. Single player is set in stone.
When I am done with a multiplayer game, I am done. I pick up old SP games all the time.

Yep. I remember going through ff7 a second time and doing all of the side quests. Took me months.
