Is this true? I've always assumed they were further north.

They are in North Arkansas. North MS looks like it would be cutting it close...

Maybe in Pickwick at JP Coleman State Park in MS. The lake/TN River is the state line where MS/AL/TN meet.

Good luck figuring out what state's beer drinking laws apply if you go fishing

*Supposedly* there was a walleye caught out of D'Arbonne lake in the last couple of weeks. It was on farcebook anyway.

I think sauger and walleye are very close relatives.

I’ve never heard of them being caught in Pickwick but won’t say that they haven’t.

I’ve caught a bunch of saucer though.

There's sauger in Lake Guntersville. Sauger is a relative of the walleye.

Did that fish have black spots on the dorsal fin? If so, that's not a walleye, that's a sauger.

I know that Greer’s Ferry Lake in Arkansas has them. Locals sponsor a walleye tournament each year.

I had some Walleye up in Northern Minnesota years ago. That was the best fresh water fish I've ever had.

The state record Rainbow trout is from an oxbow Lake.
I’ve heard of walleyes in Pickwick before.

We caught a Sauger in the intercostal canal in Brusly. Didn’t know what the hell it was.

that is a walleye. Saugers dont have the white tip on the bottom tail fin.

Been stocking them for a number of years. Most are catch and immediate release. Caught pretty regularly at Lake Lamar Bruce.

I had no idea they were that far south. I figured south Illinois/Kentucky was the southern limit.

Amen. I have a house there and the state lines and laws are interesting on the water.
