Back to the Future: Part 2-3 Timeline issue...

Okay, the girlfriend has never seen the trilogy so we powered through them this weekend. One thing we noticed was when Doc got struck by lightning at the end of part 2, the delorean sent him to 1888. Cool, but then Marty gets the letter telling him where he is and where to find the delorean to make it home back to 1985.
That’s all fine and dandy up until Marty goes back to 1885 to save the Doc from getting killed by Tannen. For those that don’t remember, the delorean gets shot by an Indian with an arrow. Marty pulls it out and rips the fuel line in the process. This is the start of the dynamic duo trying to figure out how to get the delorean up to 88 mph and the decide the train is the best way to do it.
Little did they know, there should have been another delorean in this time/year hidden in the cave left for Marty to find in the future in 1955. They could’ve just used that delorean instead of racking their brain on how to get the broke one up to 88 mph. Why didn’t they do this?
I’m sure there was more timeline issues but this was the one that stood out the most to us.

The movie would have sucked a big ol dick if he just goes back in time and picks up Doc.

A: There are two logical answers to this one…
The car mechanic's answer: As anyone who has stored an automobile for a long period of time can tell you, you always drain all of the fluids out of the car before putting it into storage. Doc most certainly would have drained the gas out of the DeLorean if he was going to leave it hidden for 70 years. At the 1955 drive-in, Doc specifically says "I put gas in the tank" indicating that the DMC must have had an empty tank when they found it in the mine.
The time travel theory answer: Even if Doc had not drained the tank, he still would not have gone back into the mine for fear of creating a time paradox by accidentally damaging the DeLorean, the mine, or who knows what. After all, since Marty is now back in 1885, Doc's plan obviously worked, and worked perfectly. But what if Doc were to go back into the mine and accidentally cause a cave-in that causes even more damage to the DeLorean? What happens to the future of that DeLorean, when it's unearthed in 1955? And what might that do to Marty and the undamaged future DeLorean now in 1885? As an analogy, imagine a time traveler going back in time, finding himself as a child, and cutting off that child's hand with a meat cleaver. What happens to the adult time-traveler's hand? That would definitely risk a time paradox, and we know that Doc would never go out of his way to risk such a thing for fear of (in the worst case scenario) unraveling the fabric of the space-time continuum and destroying the entire universe.

BTTF 1 is damn near a flawless movie. Every line and scene has a purpose.

Yes...but had they done this, then the DeLorean wouldn't have been available for Marty to receive from 1885 to 1985, because it would have been removed from the cave by Marty...By using the car, the timeline in which the car was available in the cave would not have existed, because the car would have been removed in 1885 in the new timeline.

Better yet, in Pt II, when Marty and Doc go back to the alternate 1985 (where Biff runs the city, his father was murdered, etc.) Marty comes up with the idea of returning to 2015 and stop old Biff from stealing the Delorean. Doc explains why this won't work as THAT 2015 would be the future of the one they're currently in (the alternate timeline which he draws on the chalkboard)
If this is indeed the case, how did old Biff return to the original 2015 (where Doc and Marty were trying to get Jennifer how of older Marty's house) and return the Delorean where he stole it?
By giving his younger self the almanac, wouldn't that have changed the course of time and rendered him unable to return to that original 2015?

I like what the BTTF FAQ says, but if Doc drained all the fluids from the DeLorean (the one he locked up in the cave for Marty to find in 1955), what did he do with the fluids?? Did he dispose of them? Use them in an experiment?
Also, Doc could have written another letter to Marty once he knew the DeLorean (the one Marty came to 1885 in) was damaged on arrival? The second letter could have said to watch out on your arrival, don't damage the DeLorean, and bring extra gas. Marty would have then received two letters, the original one and second one.
