Reasons: One of these.

1. Actually vetting candidates outside Program and serious.
2. Sark is their man and he is still working and needs no distraction.
3. Want Coach E and are going through vetting process for appearance sake.

I imagine they would at least make a showing of interviewing a few people before doing that.

I feel like the way the media keeps saying that O will go through the process and interview a few people may hold up the hiring process. Thinking O is being required to interview at least 3 people. Don’t know how easy it is to get those interviews set up in two days if you don’t start until Canada’s exit is official. Don’t really know the ins and outs of this process. If they were wanting Sark and Cheney to be interviewed as speculated earlier that would hold it up too. Of course this theory would mean the interviews would be a waste of time.

They maybe waiting to do it closer to championship game hoping it will get buried in the national media and minimal negativity from a national standpoint. Again that would be stupid. Don’t hire somebody that you feel you need to bury in the news cycle.

Canada and LSU just signed over the weekend, I'd expect Monday or early Tuesday to usher in O's final nail in the coffin unless they are trying to wait out for Sark as i don't see UGA losing their OC to us.

You think they can pull off a fake search and no one find out about it? Give me a break. This is LSU Football. A program that has more leaks than a sieve. If the search was fake people wouldn't be able to keep it a secret for long i assure you.

They gonna announce tomorrow during the NC. That way nobody is paying attention to us. It will be a repeat of the O hire. They announced that during OSU vs MICH

If it's Steve, then it's probably better to anounce it after signing day...hats off to them.

The OL coach was named the same day grimes was announced as leaving.

O has known for a month and a half that Canada wouldn't return.

The $ details, and thus the deal, weren’t final until yesterday.

Which was a week before signing day with 4 OL expected to sign. Not the same situation here.

So let me get this straight. Orgeron can announce Esminger will be the next OC in November and announce Canada is pretty much gone in early January. But he cannot confirm that Esminger will indeed be the OC before Canada has his bags packed?

What about the deal prevents LSU from announcing his replacement?

I have no idea what you’re asking. They’ve had an open OC position for less than 48 hours either way. For recruiting purposes it was extremely important to name the OL replacement asap. There is no urgency with recruiting now. Whether it’s announced today, tomorrow, or Wednesday makes no difference.

Those guys were signing regardless of who was named OL coach.

Grimes sold them all on staying committed

Unless my buddy was fed false information, it's looking like Sterlin Gilbert. I don't give a damn what 247 says. They aren't even right about recruiting half the time. How the Hell would they know who the new OC is going to be? LOL

You remove any doubt by at least being able to tell them who their coach will be, and not leaving the door open for other schools. It’s pretty basic stuff.
