We rewired our old farmhouse and only did it for coax. The conduit we put inside walls for that isn't wide enough for all the cables etc we want to, need to run now. Wider conduit would have been better.

i'm renovating an old house a room at a time. last year, i did our bedroom, and put an outlet about every 3 feet. her friends made fun of me when they saw the pics of the progress. Today, i charge my phone in another room because i can't reach a goddanm one of the plethora of outlets i put in the room. so, yeah, put them everywhere

Definitely would have some outlets in the floor of the living room for lamps and miscellaneous charging of phones and tablets next to the sofa table

Docking Drawer for the wife’s shite. This has a GFCI and a temperature cutout in case the wife leaves it in.

Eaves
Switches by the bed so you don’t have to get out of bed to turn the light off.
Create a charging station for the electronics.
Charger (at least wiring) for an electric car if you’ll be there a while.
Transfer switch and power inlet for generator
Under/over cabinet lighting

I recommend putting one up mid-wall(s) where you think your TV(s) might go. Also, a few extras around the outside somewhere if you're into exterior illuminations during the holidays.

nowhere, we have outlets out our asses. Last spring the wife decided she wanted to switch our our beige colored outlets for white. I replaced 126 outlets in total. Damn things are everywhere. We've added and added and added some more over the years though.

Behind any wall mounted TVs.

Inside kitchen cabinets.

Attic: Put a couple of good circuits that aren't dedicated to hvac in the attic. You'll thank me later.

Any closet that may become a media closet. Or, hell, just every closet in general.

Along stairway if a 2 story home.

Near main entrance for a phone charging station.

That's an awesome idea. But I would put one of these in:

I'd put a couple of these in the bedroom by the nightstand, too

Get the ones with the 2 USB ports on the side and you still have 2 electrical outlets to use.

Sounds like a sure fire way to burn your house down. Good luck.

Instead of putting them on your kitchen backsplash, put them underneath your upper cabinets. I was told this was a preferred look by kitchen designers.

Nope. That is going to cost well over $300. Just the brass fixture was $175 and that was 20 years ago. I did install one and the wife moves shite around so much, I don't think it was ever used.
